My Process

Here are the typical steps I take you through during an app design project.
The whole process may vary according to your specific needs, but usually projects follow a similar pattern.

Onboarding Call

We discuss all the details of your project, including app features and your business goals.

Next Step

Proposal

I formalize the list of deliverables and send you a proposal including time and cost estimates.

Next Step

Sign-off and down payment

We both sign the proposal and you complete the down payment.

Due within 3 days of receipt

Next Step

Wireframe and prototype

I create a low fidelity wireframe of all the app screens along with a prototype for internal user testing.

Next Step

Review [& sign-off]

You provide me with your feedback about the wireframe and prototype. Your sign-off is required to proceed to the next step.

Due within 24 hours of receipt

Next Step

Style of the app

I design 3 pivotal screens in order to define the style of the app.

I check all implemented designs to make sure everything is ready for launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many revisions are included in the process?

I usually include 1 revision of the wireframe and prototype, 2 revisions of the app style and 1 revision of all app screens. A revision means that you provide me with a list of all changes you'd like to see in what I've sent, I work on your feedback and send you back the amended designs for approval. If no (or more) revisions are necessary during the process, timing and costs get revised as well.

Why are reviews due within 24 hours of receipt?

I don't work on multiple projects at once because I want to devote all my attention to the client I've decided to work for in the agreed time frame. Since the time frame can't change drastically after we signed the proposal, it's important that you outline the time you need for reviews in advance.
A review time of 24 hours works for most of the clients, but if you feel this is not your case I'll be happy to discuss a different arrangement during our onboarding call.

What's your toolkit?

For all my design work I leverage Bohemian's Sketch as it allows me to build up each design step on top of the previous (i.e. the low fidelity wireframe and prototype I start with at the beginning of the process evolve into a polished, hi fidelity design work at the end of it).
When it's time to provide developers with the assets and specs they need to build the app I resort to Zeplin.
